Boo-hoooooo

Last night I couldn't sleep, I have a sore gum (nice), I'm wondering if it's my wisdom teeth coming though.

So at 3.30am I woke up, brushed teeth again, flossed and gargled with Cordasol. 4.45am I was still awake, wondering whether to give up on the thought of sleep or muffle the snores of the Don with my pillow.
I contented myself with kicking him and prodding him until he moved onto his side...
I finally fell asleep and allowed myself a 45min lie in.

I got up and for some reason I decided to check out the bump in the full length mirror. My tummy button piercing (long since taken out) looked a little wierd and then I looked around the bottom of my bump! I nearly cried! New stretch marks have appeared!! Thank goodness they are smallish but they have still appeared on an otherwise flawless part of my tummy.

I am absolutely gutted, they appeared overnight and I keep peering at them throughout the day and they seem to be multiplying.
Soooooo to calm my distress I have purchased a birth-ease birthing ball to sit on at my desk. Apparently this is good for posture and your inner core muscles (hopefully it will strengthen my tummy and keep baby from pushing out).
Plus at the first stage of labour you can wiggle around on it to help relieve your pain. I'll probably be punching it, screaming "Mummmmm take the pain away" (as we all know one stroke of your Mums hand on your forehead and all pain vanishes??!!)....

I also purchased Mama Mio BBB kit which consists of a tummy rub oil, boobie moisturiser and a wonder-full balm (all sounds very nice). Desperation or what!

I keep wondering if I became watchful over what I eat whether this will reduce the rate of stretchmark growth. What scares me is my tummy is only going to get bigger!! Much bigger!!

All the books I read say 'pregnancy is not the time for dieting'... but then they say 'don't eat empty calories suchas cakes'...

I'm sorry but life without cake is A DIET!

I'm also in the mind that if I only eat low-fat things I miss out on good fats and my skin becomes very dry!

I am still umming and arring about pet names for the bump, Smudge, Twinkle... I think I'm waiting until Tuesday so I can at least give it a gender specific name.

Boy:- thumper, wiggler, piglet, poppet
Girl:- twinkle, poppet, smudge

I like Twinkle for either a girl or a boy... until he/she is born, of course!

Don't worry yourself with such trivial things as stretch marks... there are so many other things to occupy your mind/time with!

Very true, stretch marks are just annoying! And as long as baby is healthy and happy all will be good :)
